It is sad to see a state with so much potential having to miss out on so many things because of the politics involved in the government. But the truth is also that the mindset of the people hasn't changed. They are also ok with the dimnished growth the state is showing!

@Abhijith
Not commenting on the price issue as I have no real account of ur claims!
And on quality of products, other than FMCG/Consumer Durables in Big Bazaar, rest all are sub standard coz the Target Group they focus is the lower middle class mass market who look jus at the price.... If u want quality, u better pay money!!! and go to Central!(again from Biyani)

Well if u blamed the govt i join ur war! Big Bazaar was found to use wrong MRP stickers which showed a higher price than the actual price from the manufacturers. They hiked the MRP and then gave a discount equalling the hike. The Metrology dept even issued a show cause notice. Other than this they have also been giving bad quality products, of which am a customer![:D]

Its not jst the CM who can do anythin. I don't know why you find fault with just the CM. AFAIK he's one of the few good men left in Kerala politics. Its true that people in Kerala do go up in arms against big retailers or MNC's, and i don't support them in that, but is it fair on the part of the BIG Baazaar's and fresh stores to stick duplicate MRP stickers, esp when Kerala, as you said, has the largest % of literates. If you had blamed the govt as a whole i'd totally be in support. But before going against the CM just find out what he has to go through each day in office, be it regarding the Munnar demolitions or the deals for Smart city.

Check out http://mexxian.blogspot.com/2007/08/gods-own-news.html for a small item which caught my eye.
